Update 3 Issue

Recently I just do a regular update to keep the system up-to-date and yesterday, when I rebooted the LMDE, the original GDM gone...

And also when I log on, only the wallpaper appears, no menu bars, no controls, no mouse right click on desktop but just the blank wallpaper...

It should be GNOME 3 now but I think the update is broken, or may be the GNOME shell is broken.

The Update 3 did not update the kernel to 3.0 neither...

Is there something I can help to remedy that?
