Melissa is a greek for honey bee. A plant was named Melissa officinalis (Lemon balm) because it attracts bees. As in Linux Mint 13, Melissa will attract users to use it. Melissa also used to be among most popular female name in the 70's and 80's.

How about Maritza?

Greek name which means strong,bright,lovely one also known as Marixa

on another note, I think the number 13 should be skipped and go straight to 14. people are superstitious enough not to use it because of the number 13 alone even if it turns out to be the best thing since sliced bread.

I know that Fedora didn't skip 13... What they could do is to write Mint 13 with Roman numerals
instead of regular numbers: Mint XIII Perhaps Roman numerals is a bit less intimidating to superstitious people?

Ditto on either Melissa Or Mila. Melissa sounds great, kinda has a quality to it... "I'm running Linux Mint 13 (Melissa)." 8)
