Acroread 7 or 8

I have a PDF that requires Acrobat and Fileopen plug-in in order to view the file.

Any one know where to get the 64 bit version of Acrobat 7 or 8?

You seek for a 64 bit version of Adobe reader? I fear, but I can be wrong, it is just bundled in 32 bit... But you should be able to make working it on 64 bit.

I can get older versions here, but the installer complains of the wrong architecture, 32 bit on 64 bit. http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/ ... tform=unix

BTW, I thought there was a work around for installing 32 bit on 64 bit?

So you want installing the 32 package from the Adobe site? But on your 64 bit system, have you the ia32-libs installed too?

Thanks for moving it Oscar, did not realize LMDE has so many sub forums? Been away a while.

Also I do have the ia32-libs installed, I am getting the conflict with the CLI and wrong architecture if I use package installer? I would really like to run this in Linux rather then Uggh Windows.

Does any one know a better way to install the downloaded package through CLI?

Rather try here: http://get.adobe.com/fr/reader/otherversions/. Choose Linux, your language and Reader 9.4.2 YourLanguage for Linux (.deb)

Btw, ia32-libs is necessary but sometimes not sufficient so often ia32-libs-gtk can be needed too:

In many cases, ia32-libs-gtk is mandatory to ensure 32-bit apps would run flawlessly on Linux x86_64 .

Thanks linuxviolin, I had to use this link for English http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ I have the ia32-libs installed, but still get this error when I try to install the 32 bit version. Error:Wrong architecture 'i386'

A late reply/suggestion. Have you tried installing the package from debian-multimedia. I tried this on my machine and there seems to be no error.

anmys, Sudo Apt-get is going to install the latest version, and that will not work with the File Open plug in. But thanks for your input.

Any way to install Acroread 7 or 8 from a tarball manually? Will it run on my 64bit system OK?
