GRUB MIA!

Post by Guest »

Hey all,

I'm brand new to LinuxMint, but have been using Ubuntu since the Hoary Hedgehog days... I thought I'd give Mint a go and I've done something really stupid. Somehow I messed up the GRUB/MBR and needed to use SuperGRUB to fix it. Now I don't have GRUB and can't seem to install it either! I have 2 HDDs, 1 is XP/LinuxMint and the other is Ubuntu 7.10. Both *nix's have been installed after WIndows, so that's not the problem, but I thought that surely by installing a fresh version of linux it'd fix the boot loader so I can have a proper play with Mint but NO. =(

When I boot my pc, it doesn't give me a GRUB menu at all, it just boots directly into WinXP... I've tried using the SuperGRUB cd to "fix" the linux boot, but it didn't work =(

Any ideas please? I'd hate to be stuck in Windows again...
