How bad is this GRUB message

Post by yotama9 »

I have just installed LMDE on my laptop and did the good old

Code: Select all

 sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
[GRUB was updated as well. At first I tried to do nothing but I was worned that no grub will be installed. This sounded bad to me so I selected to go back and then picked some partition. I'm not sure if I sellected the right partition. When that was done, I read on the terminal:
/usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Attempting to install GRUB to a partitionless disk or to a partition. This is a BAD idea..
/usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged..
Installation finished. No error reported.
