Suddenly, I am not getting my gui login screen but light grey and black squares instead of the login screen - I can see the mouse but the keyboard has some delay to it. I can login at console using Ctrl+Alt+F1 and do startx after booting in text mode
How to get my gui back?

Hello all,
I.have the same issue in a way. Loaded LMDE, completed all the updates. I did have an error with grub bootloader, but fixed. Now I am stuck and cannot load the gui startx will not boot. Please help.
