Problem with apt-get on my home network

Hi, recently installed mint. On my home network, when I run apt-get, I get the following error.

However, I took the notebook to school, where it was able to update fine. Is there a fix for this somehow?

(also, my old Ubuntu install had no problem on my home network)

There are too many variables here to be completely confident about either of the following possibilities: either 1. the repository was down when you were trying to update from home or 2. your dns isn't working on your home network, hence the couldn't resolve errors. Is this the only time this has occurred at home (in which case possibility 1 seems most likely)?

Yes, it only happens at home. However, I have tried Sunday (all day), Monday, and today, which leads me to think it isn't the repository. Also, I doubt it is 2, because my home pc is having no trouble downloading anything (not running mint however).

Server down would result in a "host could not be reached" I reckon? My bet's on DHCP/DNS.

You're right on their being to many variables. Sky, does your machine even get an IP-address? Are you using a static or dynamic configuration? Does regular internet work on this and other machines? Can you ping one of the failing servers from another machine? If you're on wireless network when it doesn't work, does it work if you're on cabled network?

If it doesn't work, please provide information using the following commands:

sudo cat /etc/resolv.conf
sudo route
sudo cat /etc/hosts

Also provide the IP-address of the router is there is any.
