ive noticed too that all the stable 12's have been removed from the mirrors too.if it is to clear up a bug, thats great they catch it before its actual release.kinda disappointed that i have to reinstall, dont have to,but, thats the way i do it.but its okay.i wonder if clem is gonna fix all the lags also.ive ran into a few problems but not to major, the only thing thats getting to me is the lags.other than that it seems pretty good.

Why would you have to reinstall? Won't whatever changes be available as an update?

Network printing is not yet working. IMHO Mint 12 is not yet ready for final release :(

Are you sure that your printer is connected to the network, and not infrared or Bluetooth?

I get this error:
Code: Select all
FirewallD is niet actief. Om netwerkprinters te kunnen detecteren moeten de volgende services zijn ingeschakeld op de firewall: mdns, ipp, ipp-client en samba-client.

Edit: I have tried turning on and off the firewall. It doesn't help. All updates are installed.

Was looking for the final ISO to install on a spare machine. Never mind.

Yes, there were some posts on the blog announcement discussion that mentioned some bugs in the final release.
Oh well, will keep an LM 9 / LMDE partition intact until Clem gives an all-clear.

BTW, what theme are you using in the screenshot posted above?
Also, the mirror on Softpedia has the ISOs. Perhaps they should be removed too. Can the devs remove those?

Thanks again.

Mint has no control over external sites, all we can do is advise people to wait for the official final release, which will be announced on the blog http://blog.linuxmint.com/ and download that instead

Via my WiFi network. Did not have to do something special to get it running.

I've already managed to add the printer through the CUPS web interface. Anyway, if it's working at other people I don't consider this a serious bug.

Well, I can't speak for others, but I really appreciate Mint's 'release-when-ready' schedule instead a rigid 6-month cycle.
Rather have something that works out of the box without too many issues, than something that requires major tweaks and patches after a hurried release.

This sort of commitment to quality control usually goes unappreciated. Kudos to the Mint team!

just to let everyone know mint 12 is back on the mirrors.if the bug was due to network printing then the rest of us who arent printing have nothing to worry about.unless there was other bug issues that were fixed.

Early this morning there were about 8 Mint specific updates to 12 stable that I'm using, so I'm guessing Clem may have wanted it tweaked a bit more, just a guess.

11.10 takes about 40 seconds for me. You have great hardware to get it up in 8 sec.

Well... looks like the second respin (iso's that hit the mirrors on 25-Nov-2011 04:05) is the final one. Grabbed the torrent with 64-bit DVD, the iso turned out to be the same one, so I started seeding immediately. :)
