Did 'lisa' final release?

Post by 66beta »

The release news can find everwhere, such as LinuxToday website.

Mint's official site didnt release the 'lisa'.
But on the mirrors, can find the ISOs and the sync date is 2011.11.20
The RC release date is 2011.11.10

I have no idea :(

I think that's a final release. Last time, you can see the Mint 12 RC on mirror website 2 days before the official site.
I have tried this stable release for 2 days.

Well I'm using 12 stable on my computers. The only issue I saw was that during installation at the point where you take your picture I couldn't reach the advance button because of the bottom panel. I was able to hit the enter key to advance. I'm not planning on reinstalling Mint 12 unless there is some major improvement in 12 like getting Mint menu in the the Gnome Classic log in, or some major improvements in MATE.

PS--there was one other issue, 169 updates in 12 stable. That is a lot of updates for a new release, so hopefully those will be added.

And this article just causes even more confusion:

Read all the comments that follow this article...causing yet even more angst on this release.

Always always always wait for Clem's announcement on the Mint blog.....

Just continue the install and install all updates. Then it should be working fine.

No, the packages should be updated to those present on the final ISO release.

There may not have been official word yet but the public iso download page has just got new .iso files without "rc" in their titles like they had before - at least it's getting very close now :D

PS--there was one other issue, 169 updates in 12 stable.
When I installed the 64 bit DVD yesterday, it had 223 updates with another dozen or so that followed about an hour later. And, there were some more today.

I noticed both MGSE and MATE updates this morning. Hopefully it is making Mint 12 better and better :-)

I am leaning in the direction of reinstalling -- especially if this takes a few more days. Everything is backed up except for a few small files. I have to live with this for the next 6 months so I want it to be right.

What do think the "official" recommendation regarding reinstalling is going to be?
