[SOLVED] Firefox 8 crash

Postby emersonw on Wed Nov 30, 2011 7:26 pm

Good night, people !

I upgraded my firefox from version 7.0.1 to 8.0.1 and is showing the error: "Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts."

I've tried removing and reinstalling, but the error remains.

What can I do? I use Linux Mint LXDE 11.

Thanks !

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

This is probably a problem with add-ons or other settings from your profile. Suggest you force Firefox to create a new profile for you.

1. Open a terminal.
2. Backup your old settings:
Code: Select all
mv ~/.mozilla ~/FirefoxBackup

3. Start Firefox, choose not to import anything.

Does it work now? Then you can delete the FirefoxBackup folder in your home folder. Else, move it back and try something else:
Code: Select all
rm -fr ~/.mozilla
mv ~/FirefoxBackup ~/.mozilla
