I am wondering if theres any way to get past this problem i am having with linux where my mouse pointer wont move if i am pressing keyboard keys.
this can get annoying because if i am using linux for gaming i cant use the arrow keys,
im not sure if this happens to everyone or if there is a way around it.
help appreciated thanks

Have you checked in System > Mouse Preferences > Touchpad to see if "Disable touchpad while typing" is checked?

I think I see this only in java programs. If I press a key the Pointer will freeze on the touchpad. This doesn't happen while using a usb mouse. Unchecking "Disable touchpad while typing" didn't change anything.

In my case, I had the mouseemu package installed, which was overriding the xinput settings for my Bluetooth mouse. Uninstalling mouseemu solved the problem for me.
