Damn you Linux Mint team I cant get anything to tweak!

Postby thepreacher on Fri Dec 02, 2011 4:42 pm

Yes I am one of the lost souls who was looking for a place to call home. I moved from Ubuntu (when they made you-know-what the default), then I went to fedora and its not bad but lets say the rough edges were a bit too much for my liking, then I thought what the heck, let me try Linux Mint and my word - Perfect! The defaults are just soooo awesome. In fact its so brilliant for 30 min, I was just miserable because there was just nothing to tweak and I am hooked on tweaking. Which Linux user isn't? Your defaults are just brilliant. Look even chrome fonts look beautiful :)

You should have warned me that Linux Mint was this beautiful. Now I'm like an addict with a sudden shortage of "tweak-able" things. Well done guys! For the first time, just an our after installing Linux, I was back coding in my usual development environment. Everything is just brilliant.

PLEASE YOU ARE ON TO SOMETHING. DO NOT MESS IT UP. DO NOT DEVIATE FROM WHAT EVER PHILOSOPHY YOU CURRENTLY HOLD, EVOLVE BY ALL MEANS BUT NO REVOLUTION.

cheers.

 I resemble that comment, I got into the skin of Ranlander2 lite that I'm using for Xfce and Win7 tweaking the xml files so they would look the same and use the same calendar and to do list, in both OS's. Come to think of it I haven't been into win7 in over a month except to test the xmls.

Good this will startcha off upon the journey. Many such threads and infinite number of other conky resources online.

viewtopic.php?f=60&t=30209

I ended up calling it enough after about a wk of intense messing around with conky. End result isn't exactly stellar, but at least it's a bit different than the plain jane configs a lot of folks have. This as the wise Habitual noted, will help to occupy you until something with LM that interests ya more comes along ... :D
