Language pack for French under Xfce?

Postby bedege on Mon Dec 05, 2011 4:26 pm

Hi there
Just upgraded my notebook from Linux Mint 9 Xfce to LMDE Xfce 201109. Then added couple of extra soft that I usually use: chromium and evolution (gnome email client).
Concerning Evolution, I stumbled on a small rock: how to make it use a French dictionary while editing emails? In the past, with Xubuntu-based distro, I'd simply download "language-pack-gnome-fr" and that would be it :D
Here, with the Debian based distro, I couldn't find the right metapackage to do the trick. I found (but did not install) kde-i18n-fr to go with KDE.
Is there an equivalent for gnome-based applications? :?:

Thanks for your help!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I think the Debian equivalent for "language-pack-gnome-fr" is "task-french-desktop".

You can install it with:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install task-french-desktop
