Unwanted hidden files in dialog boxes

Postby celem on Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:08 pm

I run Mint-9 amd64. This issue has irritated me ever since installation a year or two ago. When I use the open/save dialog in many (most) programs, my HOME folder shows the hidden files/folders yet other folders do not show their hidden files/folders. In Nautilus my hidden files/folders are not displayed unless I request it. As an example, Save-As dialog box in GNU-Paint does this. I tried to attach a screen shot but the forum rejects it saying "board attachment quota has been reached" Is there a cure?

Try right clicking in the open/save dialog.
