My environment changed for other when i removed conky-Solved

Post by espinaca »

Hello!!! :)
I have a problem that for days I cannot solve it...
I tell them:
Install the program Conky, I got bored because could not form it to my taste and i eliminated it. When reboot my PC, I met another graphic environment. This one precisely:

Image

And I had this one:

Image

How i can return to my previous environment?

I use Linux mint debian edition 32bits with the environment Xfce that comes for defect.
But reboot my computer, as was commenting earlier, and me a Xfce appears with other configuration
Try to solve it for my account but the ideas exhausted already me, look very much by the network and I did not find anything...

Exactly the programs i removes were these:

*Conky
*Conky-all

I tried installing them again but not, remains the same, not solved...
I would be grateful to them very much that could help me since it has been days since I am like that.

A greeting :D
PD: Forgive my English it's very bad, I am Spanish.

what was the exact command you used to remove conky?
try to look in

Code: Select all

cat /var/log/apt/history.log
and tells us the last entries you find there.

lets try the easiest way (don't know if it's going to work):

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install mint-meta-xfce
tells us something after.

Hi!!

No working, says that mint-meta-xfce already this in its most recent version....
Reinstall the S.O. and continues just as earlier.
Some another idea?
I would like to solve it, I already tried everything.
I am grateful with you for helping me.
I hope to solve it because I want to use linux mint as earlier.

Goodbye.

It looks like the config files are messed up. Look at the hidden files in your home folder to see where the xfce folder is. I think it's probably ~./config/xfce4.

Rename this folder to something like xfce4_backup, after which I guess a simple log out/in should recreate the default settings.

Hello

Finally i solve it
I did a new partition table and reinstall the S.O. including the partition for /home.

Thanks for the help.
