When trying to install Daryna the installer dies when it is almost finished: when doing some hardware stuff at the end it disappears, leaving the machine running but the installation is unfinished.
- leaves directory icons like /target/home and /target/boot etc on the desktop, the MBR is not written so attempting to boot goes to the previous boot menu.
- The machine is a dual-core Athlon64, with 4 GB RAM, ran Mint 3.1 and Ubuntu 7.10 with no trouble.
Any ideas on what to do? Is there some log showing what went wrong?

Is this a laptop? Daryna does not like to complete an installation if the wireless is switched 'on' during the install.
Re: Installer dies at past 90%
- not a laptop: a desktop machine with no wireless hardware.
Re: Installer dies at past 90%
I have a desktop with wireless that's always on an it has always installed fine.
It could be a bad burn or a dirty cd.
Check the md5sum of the cd and iso.
~.xsessions and maybe a log in /var/log may have some info on why it died.
