Slideshow Desktop Background in Lisa

Post by Ponteaus »

I can't figure out how to set a slideshow (in the standard XML format) as the background in Lisa. *.xml files aren't recognized by the Appearance personalization tool, picking the XML manually in the location bar has no effect, and dragging and dropping the XML file into the Appearance tool has no effect. How do I set the slideshow as my background? I've got the slideshow and all associated pictures stored in a /home/Public/backgrounds folder, and I'd prefer to keep it there if possible, rather than moving it to /usr/share or similar (makes migrating my data to the next OS version easier). Thanks in advance!

Try installing xscreensaver, see http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=86813 section 1c. then select only GLslideshow.
