LMDE is working beautifully, but the menu reminds of Windows and want to make it more like OSX , know that there are a few docks like cairo and AWN but how can I remove the default start Menu ?

Will mac4linux do the job ? do I need a theme ?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You can just right click it and delete it. If you're using LMDE Xfce it's also in the right click menu on the desktop.
Life is too short to waste it on Microsoft.

Which desktop environment?

Gnome 2 - I would just:

Code: Select all
sudo mv /usr/bin/gnome-panel /usr/bin/gnome-panel-old

Then log out/in. This means the panel is available if you need it, by running gnome-panel-old.

Gnome 3 - you can't, but you can hide it with an extension.
