Totally new to Mint here.
Just installed Linux Mint 12 64 bit in Virtual Box on a 2 processor machine running Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit. Installed latest VB Guest Additions then installed Cinnamon Desktop and Cinnamon Session. Rebooted and selected Cinnamon to log in, all ok after deactivating 3D Acceleration in VB, desktop now more like Gnome 2. Downloaded new Cinnamon theme from here:
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/01/cinn ... stom-theme. Can't see where to enable it? Also can't find where to activate the MintMenu. Also is it possible to have the top bar at the bottom like you could with Gnome 2?
Any help would be appreciated.

The "more like gnome 2" desktop is actually the gnome fallback mode, which you get if you don't have 3d acceleration. Cinnamon (and gnome shell) can't run without 3d acceleration. So, since you're not using cinnamon, cinnamon themes don't work. If you enable 3D acceleration, you can log into cinnamon. To enable a theme in cinnamon, push your mouse into the upper right hand corner (which opens the overview) and click the theme button, which is right next to the Window button, at the top middle-left.
