mint 12 kde how to set clock to 12 hr format ?

Postby Ebere on Sun Jan 15, 2012 2:56 am

Just installed 12, kde, this evening.

I have had an interesting time, trying to get it all set up the way I like.

But one thing that I can't seem to find the way to do, is to set the clock to the 12 hour format, instead of 24 hr.

I did find that if I let the time zone default to "UTC", the clock goes to a 12 hr setting. But... Then it is about 8 and a half hours ahead.

Howidothis ?

Right click the clock, select Digital Clock Settings, then click the little wrench icon right of the Date format selection box. In the new window that shows up, go to the Date & Time tab. Change the time format (probably you want to pick "PH:MM:SS AMPM" from the list.

Thank you.

I'll find out in about 4 hours, if that worked.

Not sure if this should be a new post but I'm posting here just in case. I have Mint 12 Gnome (I think) but I'm using Cinnamon, not really sure what the difference is. (Maybe apples and oranges). Anyway, I have the clock set up for 12 hour (AM/PM) in the clock settings but it only shows 24 hour time. It worked fine for a few days after the install but hasn't worked correctly for three or four days. Any help is appreciated and if the Mods need to move this to a new post please do) To clarify, the 'clock settings' screen on <right click> shows 12 hour and the correct time in the correct format BUT the displayed time is only in 24 hour format.

It worked, but only after I set, unset, and reset it several times.

Thank you.

I was without power for most of a week. When I came back, I dinked with kde for a while, and decided to just nuke it.

It is slow slow slow... And it keeps resetting settings all over the place, back to default settings, or some totally different settings.

Just too much trouble for me right now.

I'll try using LM12 generic.
