install teamspeak3 on mint12 solved

I downloaded teamspeak3 which is an .run file but when I click on it to install it, it opens in gedit which will not install it.
How do I get an .run file to run in mint? I downloaded the same file and clicked on it in puppy 525 and it installed straight
away. This was on another computer that I run puppy on. I tried moving the download to the package manager but it will
not let me do that either. Any ideas. thanks in advance. Dave new to mint but so far like it

Mark the file as executable. Right-click > Properties > Permissions > Allow executing file as a program.
