1) Install the gnome-alsamixer package.
2) In GNOME ALSA Mixer, increase the values of the Internal Mic and the Internal Boost.
3) Select the internal mic as the recording device.
Note: This may not work for you. I am unable to know due to scepticism.
I have been trying for the last while to get my webcam and microphone working on my laptop and, after getting the webcam to work, all I need yet is to get the mic functioning. Unfortunately, I really have no idea how to do this.
In alsamixer, it includes three sound cards: PulseAudio, Conexant CX20585, and the HDMI card. PulseAudio is the default and includes no mic setting. Conexant does, however. I am thinking that I need to set this to the default, but again, I have no idea how to go about this.
Here is the output to arecord -l as well:
Code: Select all
**** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices ****
card 1: Generic_1 [HD-Audio Generic], device 0: CONEXANT Analog [CONEXANT Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
