libavformat53

For various reasons (mostly to use a toolkit that I love) I need to be able to install libavformat53 but can't seem to find it anywhere friendly. I understand it's from "Sid" and so might be breaking things and not completely available, should I wait or is there a way to get this set aside somewhere safe so that I link my makefiles to this one lib without messing with the rest of my system? Thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Code: Select all
$ apt-cache policy libavformat53
libavformat53:
  Installed: 5:0.10-0.0
  Candidate: 5:0.10-0.0
  Version table:
 *** 5:0.10-0.0 0
        500 http://www.debian-multimedia.org/ sid/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     5:0.8.2-0.0 0
        500 http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/multimedia/ testing/main amd64 Packages
     4:0.8-1 0
        600 http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ testing/main amd64 Packages
        600 http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ unstable/main amd64 Packages

Already is in the Mint repo. Not really sure why you cannot find it anywhere.

Well, running apt-cache policy I get:

Code: Select all
apt-cache policy libavformat53
N: Ignoring file 'google-chrome.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
N: Ignoring file 'cb-nightly.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
N: Ignoring file 'wx.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
N: Unable to locate package libavformat53

I'll try to update my sources and see what I can figure out.
