New member / old computer man

Postby Marc-Sch on Tue Jan 31, 2012 3:56 am

Hello,

I am a (very ;-)) old system engineer, comming from mainframes (CDC), walking through prop UX (HP-UX, SunOS, AIX) and Linuxes... I like Android too...

Living in Geneva (CH).

Using Debian wheezy from some days and cannot work with Gnome3 : Mintify will be my next stop...

Yup, hello there

My first mainframe was a CDC (training), but I ended up with on an MVS IBM compatible type (Itel NAS /Hitachi..)

I actually like mainframes for their structured systems approach to managing data centers or running a big system.
