Update manager shows updates to UNITY desktop.
Check the one in screenshot.
There are two updates
unity-services and lib-unity-core-4.0-1
Linuc Mint 12, LISA, Main Edition
There are other updates containing words Ubuntu. Are they needed to be installed. I have not changed anything in update manager.

Unity is not completely expunged from Mint 12, we also use the unity greeter.
