Previously, the internet shuts down for half an hour on the specific computer if one is to try and upload a torrent on a P2P program. Now they have taken it a step further. They will search your computer to see if it has a P2P program, running or not, and if they find one, you get shut down for half an hour. The implications are obnoxious and seemingly outrageous. Linux came with Transmission pre-installed and I couldn't figure out why the internet kept dropping out. Furthermore, I might use my laptop elsewhere to download legal content, like programs or other distros to toy with, but i have to reinstall a P2P program every time. I think what bothers me most is that those who run the network actively use their powers to search within my computer on a regular basis. What prevents them from doing other things when bosses are looking the other way. I do not like the implication of this at all. Someone please talk sense into me or give me an idea of how to handle this.
