Also, I'm assuming you tried to install VirtualBox manually by adding a ppa or a repository. Correct?

yes i am trying to install a virtual box.now through a synaptic manager when i select the package and the error come "fix the broken package first " more detail is ( E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
