How difficult/easy would it be to package the EDUbuntu apps into a Mint distro? I install Mint 90% of the time and usually add the edubuntu packages. TIA

If any of the Edubuntu applications you want depend on using Gnome 3 or Unity, I expect difficulties as Mint has forked Gnome 2 to use their own styles
--although the promise is compatibility over time

Gnome 3 dust has to settle for awhile before that might be 100% true..

Now from the internet hits, it seems that EdUbuntu 11x is Gnome 2 based, so that set is likely Ok

• I think this is probably a true statement

But watch for later releases or any Ubuntu moves to integrate into their desktop preference: now being Gnome 3x..

• However I also expect that may take a while, so for now it looks like it should be OK, at least if you stick with Mint 11x, Ubtuntu (EDubuntu 11x)

--newer versions such Mint 12x, Ubuntu 12x (Edbuntu version ??) are likely to diverge based on each vendors desktop ideas..

Edubuntu is Alpha test for now version 12 forwards..

Here is the link to an updated Mint 12 x64 Gnome Live DVD image. The only addition to the original iso is Cinnamon. This contains all 330 updates thru 2012/02/07 and it installs in under 10 minutes.
