Compiz

Hi i have been trying to get compiz to work all day. The problem am having is when its installed I don't get the menu bar at the bottom or the activities bar at the top ? I have been Googleing all day but know look I have searched linuxmintfourm and i just cant get my head round it .

Os linux mint 12 64-bit
Memory 2.9GiB
Pentium(R) dual core cpu E5300 @ 2.60GHz x2
intel G41

I found with some of the functions in Compiz require a system restart and then what changes you made will show up. I have never had Compiz ask for a restart after a feature change which it should.

I have it working perfectly on Linux Mint 12 after I figured this out. Hope this helps.

Also, if you don't have any luck, try Cairo Dock. It does pretty much the same stuff as Compiz and is a little easier to figure out.
