Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 04)
i hope a screensaver inhibit applet/extension finds its way into cinnamon at some stage
Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 04)
I'm really loving Cinnamon. And thank you merlwiz, for all of your hard work on porting extensions.
However, maybe I'm missing something: when I go to the Overview (ctrl-alt-down arrow), I just see my open windows. Shouldn't there be "Windows" and "Themes" menu options in the overview as well? I'm basing this assumption off of the screenshot shown here:

Thanks in advance.

That was removed in 1.2.0 and will be replaced with something similar to the expo plugin for compiz fusion.buffalobillion wrote:I'm really loving Cinnamon. And thank you merlwiz, for all of your hard work on porting extensions.

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 04)
Should I still add this repo?
I recall reading somewhere that it was all getting changed by Clem for the next version and it would no longer be compatible.
Am I wrong?

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 16)
We are moving over about 900 miles and no idea when we'll have a place to live.
We have 90 days to find a job and a place to live after the move.
I won't be able to update cinnamon or the extensions for a long time.
I'll have internet but my laptop doesn't have 3d acceleration graphics drivers.
My desktop will be in storage until we find place to live.
Hope it doesn't take too long.

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 16)
Merlwiz good luck with your move. I'm sure we can all patiently wait while you get your life in order.
Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 16)
Hope it's as painless as possible, best of luck for everything!

INFO FOR CINNAMON 1.3
I've tried a portion of these extensions on Cinnamon 1.3 and all worked after I incremented the version.
All you need to do is find a file called metadata.json located in /usr/share/cinnamon/extensions/<extension name> and add "1.3.0" to the "cinnamon-version" array. So, you should end up with this:
"cinnamon-version": [ "1.1.3", "1.2.0", "1.3.0" ],
@merlwiz79
Good like with finding a home man! And thanks for the work so far.

Hi
Alternative way to install Cinnamon for Ubuntu users
While the PPA is currently without its maintainer, it is possible for Ubuntu users to use a Mint repository.
See more info here: http://www.howtoforge.com/introduction- ... on-desktop
PS: I did not try it myself.

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 16)
Wow. I was about to ask this question. Just before typing, I read the above message, found the answer. Brilliant!!
Would you know how to "appletize" the extension "Iconized Windows List" which is currently out of order?
I tested about most of the extensions in the PPA to Cinnamon 1.3. Like said further above, they work, if you add this "1.3.1" snippet in their relevant metadata.json file. The only one unstable seemed to be "Removable Drive Menu".
But, on the other hand, I think most of them will have to be transformed in applets because they sit in the panel. Just like the weather extension above. This will keep your Cinnamon panel flexible and enable you to claim insurance damage if need be.

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 16)
Today, Cinnamon 1.4 works fine from the following ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-nightly while this PPA has older versions.
Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 16)
This thread should maybe be locked? Cinnamon dev glebihan now maintains an official Cinnamon repo (linked in the above post) and adding this thread's repo can only cause problems/confusion.
