Belkin F5D7000 wireless card missing firmware

Postby wordout on Fri Mar 02, 2012 3:22 pm

I have just installed Mint 12 on a Dell Dimension 1100. It has a Belkin F5D7000 wireless card installed. After the install of Linux, the computer will not connect to the internet using wireless. I have done the usual software updates and still no joy. Under the wireless conection it says device not ready firmware missing. I know the card works ok as it was running fine on windows xp before the Linux install.

Any help would be appreciated. :D

Try http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=92095&p=529453&hilit=fsd7000#p529453. If this doesn't work you'll need to provide the outputs of lspci, lsub and lsmod.

I've giving up trying to get this card working now, can anyone recommended a PCI wireless card that will just work in my Dell dimension without any hassle to find drivers etc.....
