Issues after updating to proposed update pack 4

I did a clean install of LMDE, updated to update pack 3 then updated to proposed. Everything works great but the only issues I've had, and I think these are Debian issues is the computer, most of the time won't log off when clicking the "Log Off" button and rarely will shut down when I click the "Restart" button. I have to open a terminal window and do a "sudo reboot" to get the computer to reboot.

I should have added I like Cinnamon much better than Gnome 3. Thanks Clem.
