Mint under vmware

Just installed mint in VMware player hosted on win7. Added a couple of programs but haven't found how to start them from the GUI. Mint looks very nice.

Hi Pmilano, welcome to the Linux Mint forums :D Thanks for giving Linux Mint a try! If you can answer Habitual's question, and share which programs you are trying to run, we can probably help you with figuring this out

Be sure also to check out the Community website (ideas, tutorials, and hardware and software reviews), and the Cinnamon Spices website for adding themes, applets and extensions to Cinnamon (and if you haven't installed Cinnamon, see here a recent update for a teaser). Note that Cinnamon currently requires 3D acceleration to run. I'm not sure if VMware can do that; with Oracle VirtualBox however you can, and Linux Mint 12 comes pre-installed with the guest additions to better function on VirtualBox.

You can also chat in real-time with other Linux Mint users. In the Mint Menu, in the Internet section, start the application XChat IRC. You will automatically get connected to #linuxmint-chat for general chat and #linuxmint-help for support with other Linux Mint users
