adding system monitor applet to panel

adding system monitor applet to panel

Postby sruz25 on Wed Mar 07, 2012 3:27 pm

I'd like to add gnome-system-monitor applet to my panel ( using MATE ), but when i click on "add to panel" it isn't in the list. I want exactly this ( or somethink very similar - I've seen some other topics about this issue, but I haven't found what I wanted )
Image
Package gnome-system-monitor is installed.
Do somebody know how to do it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that old Gnome 2 applets designed for gnome panel and bonobo are incompatible with mate-panel and matecomponent.
And gnome-system-monitor fork is already available: https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-sy ... tor#readme

Thx for that!

Hmm, I've added the tridex repo and made sure I have mate-applets-common and mate-system-monitor installed...but it still doesn't show up in the add to panel menu. None of the other applets that should have been installed shows up either. Have you made any further changes?

Oh, somehow missed the package "mate-applets". Thought I installed that yesterday but must have been "gnome-applets" that I checked. Working now :D
