[Solved] No Networks at boot up

Postby majestyx on Sat Mar 10, 2012 7:30 am

First: thanks for LM12 LXDE :D

But, i have a network problem whit LM12LXDE 32bit (RC and now also in the Final Version) If i boot my laptop whit plugged LAN wire -> the green and the orange LED lights permanently. No Network accessible if i plug my LAN wire after boot and login to LXDE my LAN (all networks) works fine?

the same issue is by Wireless! i can power of (Hardware switch) my wlan0
i must start LM12 whit switch of WLAN. After login to LXDE i switch on my wlan0 and all WLANs works ?! mayby this is only a problem whit my "networkdriver" ?!

Code: Select all
[   19.628226] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: irq 43 for MSI/MSI-X
[   19.684123] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: irq 43 for MSI/MSI-X
[   19.684357] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready
[   20.159508] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready

i have the LM12LXDE on some (IBM) Laptops - the problem above is on a X200. On a R40 and T40 i don't have any Problems (all have LM12 LXDE 32 bit)

My log files shows nothing interesting?!

thanks in advanced & nice "green" weekend @all!

On the X200 (the lappy with problems), please run the following command from the terminal for us to have some basic information. Post the output here :D
Code: Select all
inxi -SNxc 0

Hello Vincent,

this is it:

Code: Select all
~ $ inxi -SNxc 0
System:    Host x200 Kernel 3.0.0-16-generic i686 (32 bit gcc 4.6.1)
Desktop LXDE (Openbox 3.5.0) Distro Linux Mint 12 LXDE
Network:   Card-1 Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 driver iwlagn v: in-tree: bus-ID: 03:00.0

but, i have observed on boot..
i. I start the hardware...
ii. Network came up (the network looks ok, e.g. the green LED on eth0 flashes and the orange LED flashes also 1 or 2x (DHCP)
iii. And then came up the update manager. he steals ?! at first my DNS. sometimes i can ping on 8.8.8.8 but not "google.com" or any domain else. sometime the update manager crashes the complete network. No ping, not on any IP address or domain. and if i have plugged the wire (on boot, on the X200) the green and orange LED shine always
iiii. on wireless i make a hardware reset from wlan0 after startup from update manager, and my network works. update manager also ....

thx for help and a nice Sunday

Code: Select all
~ $ sudo lspci -v -s 03:00.0
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300
   Subsystem: Intel Corporation Device 1011

Has anybody got an answer to this as I am facing the same problem? Thinkpad x200 with an Intel Corp Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 and no wireless on Mint 12. Worked fine with 11 although there were other problems so I went up to 12.
