Adding Gtk+ themes

Postby laofzu on Mon Mar 12, 2012 9:27 am

Is there any easy way to add more Gtk+ themes to those available in the default Cinnamon install? I am particularly looking for one that goes with the Shiki Wise green theme.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Not easier than downloading compressed theme folders and extracting them into the themes folder, no.
Thank you for this thread. That’s all I can say. You most definitely have made this forum into something special. You clearly know what you are doing, you’ve covered so many bases. Thanks!

To rephrase that, download your gtk3 theme of choice. It should download in a tar.gz archive format.

Extract the archive and place the theme folder in the ".themes" folder in your home folder. the "." means it's a hidden folder, so in nautilus file browser press Ctrl+H to see hidden folders.

Try www.gnome-look.org for new gtk3 themes.
