What version are you using?

download gnome-tweak-tool, download theme ,icon, etc, and put in the approriate file I.E ".themes" in your home directory. you have to create this file. go to your home dir. and press ctrl h to reveal hidden files. create there. after all that open "gnome-tweak-tool" (open terminal and type gnome-tweak-tool). pick the theme you want from yopur home (.themes) menu, then open the "appearences, themes" menu, choose the theme, and you should have it. Good luck. P.S. I just went through all this , and most of it was gleaned from softpedia, com.
