repositories

Ok, this feels like a newbie question and It feels like I should have this one by now.....
I upgraded from mint 9 (I like long term) to 11 as I could not seem to find LibreOffice (to replace OpenOffice) in a repository (and I needed some drivers not included in 9). That worked fine, and I am happy with 11. However, now I can't seem to find how to add TuxType. I have tried tarballing, but I seem to be missing something (long string of errors). I have done searches for a repository to add that would have it, but I just can't seem to find it. In fact, lots of software I search for I can find web pages for, but can not find on PackageManager. I did not have this problem on mint 9. For basic, much used software, I should have the repositories out of the box, or at least be able to add them....right? I know I am missing something here, but just not sure what I need to look for. It worked so easy in mint 9. Any help using small words and gui's would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I'm running Mint 11 right now. I just check the software manager and it was there right under "science and education".

Try this
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tuxtype

Interesting. I tried the sudo apt-get install tuxtype (did not use the update command) and after lots and lots and LOTS of things loading, now the Software Manager shows a lot more available programs and tux type is loaded. I loaded the same version of software on a computer for my dad on the same day and he has the same problem. Well, don't know why it fixed it, but I guess I'll try it on his machine next.
Thanks.

Wel....since Mint is based on Ubuntu you can try this: http://sites.google.com/site/tipsandtricksforubuntu/system-tips/source-list-generator.

This way you can build your own source list. Keep in mind that you leave the first line in your original source.list since this contains all the necessary Mint packages.

This line should look like:
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ katya main upstream import
*ASUS P5KPL-AM SE*Intel Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200*4 GiB ram*nVidia GeForce 9500GT*Realtek RTL8101/8102E*RaLink RT2500 802.11g*Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200A*HDD:Samsung HD501LJ/HD103SI*Mint 14/Cinnamon*
