I looked at e17 about a year or so ago, liked it, but it wasn't stable enough at the time. It seems more so now.

Appologies if this is a silly question but is there going to be a e17 version of Mint4.0?

Cheers,

Welcome to the Mint gang MrEuphony, :)
The Enlightenment desktop is now stable enough to give it a chance.

npap wrote:OK! Here we are with the Xfce panel added in the third screen shot. :)
It is highly configurable and it can be moved to any side of the desktop. Of course it's redundant here but we can remove some duplicate applets from the shelf (bottom panel). This is only a demonstration of the E17 desktop and it
helps us to get a 'preview' of the Mint 4.0 E17 whose beta version is hopefully going to be released very soon. :D

@npap
Why does it have the XFCE panel and the fbpanel?

@OK Molom,
I just wanted to show both panels on the desktop for comparison.
Unfortunately, the fbpanel configuration is not working in this distro; this panel also is supposed to be configurable. :(
It is better than the XFCE panel IMHO because it takes less space and it offers great usability.

My suggestion is to have the fbpanel .

I want to just stick to E17 for the Mint E17 edition, otherwise it will just be a copy of Geubuntu/OpenGEU. We will see after the official release if its necessary.
