fans are noticeably more active since mint install

Postby bendavisnc on Thu Mar 22, 2012 3:54 pm

should i be concerned that my fans seem to be spinning more and more in linux mint 12 compared to my last linux distro, which was ubuntu maverick? i'm running non fancy gnome with atis lastest 12.12 drivers on an asus 1215t netbook. i love everything about it except i can noticeably hear the fan more and more. i've installed some cpu temp software, and it seems like both cpus are anywhere from 60 to 70 c normally. should i just roll back to the original open source graphic card drivers? i understood that they were less efficient. i'm just not really sure what direction to turn with this one, as i hate to go back to having to use gnome 2 and an outdated ubuntu (mic didn't work then). thanks for any advice,

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Since upgrading to Lisa the fan on my Samsung Rf711 is on constantly, so time for down grade as I have no time for problem sloving.
