Lazarus and LMDE

Postby brian.in.maine on Sat Mar 24, 2012 4:48 pm

I'm trying to convince the developers of Lazarus (the RAD environment for FreePascal) that there is some basic incompatibility between Lazarus and LMDE.

If there is anyone out there who is able to successfully run Lazarus under LMDE - and by run, I mean just to get the IDE to appear - can you please either post or PM me the version of Lazarus that you're using, which desktop, and any other details (e.g. version of LMDE, roughly when/if you last updated it, version of kernel, etc, etc). I'd also be interested in hearing of anyone who's getting anything other than a runtime error 203 when running startlazarus via GDB (if you run it without the debugger, it just hangs, or at least, it does for me).

Interestingly enough, my wife's PC is running plain old Debian Testing, and it runs Lazarus without the slightest problem.

Thanks.

Brian

I have Lazarus v0.9.30.2-3 installed on LMDE tracking sid, fully updated. Running 3.2.0-12.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64, but it runs on the latest Debian kernel. Cinnamon desktop, but also runs fine on Gnome3.
