I was having trouble booting into Linux Mint. So, from the Live CD I mounted Linux Mint from Root (/). Is their any problem with doing that?

No. You can safely mount your partitions from a LiveCD session.

But even if the Mount is specified to root? Originally it wasn't that way, and then I switched it randomly to try to get it to work.

I would manually mount partitions in /mnt
