Installing new Nvidia drivers NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-295.33

I tried this on ubuntu but i dont have a clue how to install it because it always says You are runnning server X and please leave from server X to continue installing and for help got nvidia etc....now with this current nvidia driver my picture is tearing in game quake live but since it is only game i play it would be great to try this drivers and also current drivers are for 9000 series...pls provide me full tutorial how to unistall old drivers and install new driver version manually!Thank you in advance!!!

EDIT:i have mint 12 latest update and gt220m also tried searching forum with keyword nvidia and it says nothing found!

i tired it but it says 404 not found in terminal....can you add your route or something?

Maybe you are input a wrong command .
Try :

Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update


launch additional driver , you will see NVIDIA 295.33 as NVIDIA-current ( something like that )
