Cinnamon panel

Is there any way to add icons to the top panel in Cinnamon. When I use mate i am able to not Cinnamon. Thanks for your help

Make sure you're running the latest Cinnamon 1.4 - please install the updates (shield-like icon in the tray) if you are still using an older version.
You can right-click a program in the menu > Add to Panel. It will probably appear on the bottom panel but you should be able to drag it to the top one.

Hi thanks for the reply I have 1.4 installed I just rebooted up 3 times to cinnamon and now there is no panels nothing at all. I have to right click the desktop run a reboot from the terminal. yikes

So have gone back to mate seems to run fine. Will use mate and xp till Lisa 13 and will try cinnamon again. Thanks again for your help

Does cinnamon work when you run cinnamon --replace from terminal?

I ran cinnamon --replace that and it gave me a bottom panel that i could not right click or move ran update from there. Rebooted then again no panels nada just desk top. Thanks again I will just use Mate and xp as they both run well was just trying to keep up with the new curves.
