I am a total Linux greenhorn but have been working professionally with Microsoft products for 25 yrs.
Yesterday I installed Mint LXDE on an old desktop box (amd athlon 64, 2.0 Ghz, 512 MB RAM, 200 GB HDD) and I am very impressed by the speed and general polish and ease of use of the desktop. I even managed to install the Samba GUI and get it up and running with my other computers
I got some issues with the remote desktop connection though:
Installed the XRDP server on my Mint box but I don't find any GUI tool for configuring the service. Is that done exclusively from Terminal and/or config files and how?
When I try to connect to the box from Win7 with Remote Desktop I initially get a login window with an XRDP logo and a choice of several 'Modules' the default being 'sesman-Xvnc'. When I try to login with my username and pw for my Mint box, I get a greyish window which closes after a few seconds. If I try using the 'Sesman-X11' Module I get some error messages about Baud rate.
I do believe the problem is that the server part needs configuration but I don't know how. Please help
