Same computer just another OS from the GRUB. Everything else works in either OS, and the wifi worked last night on LMDE. Was there an autoloading update over night?

At this point I've tried so many things I'm not sure were I am anymore with everything that has been installed and uninstalled trying to fix this. I may have to start all over. The good news is for now this is my test box. The bad news is when I can get this fixed I'm going to give it to someone in need of a netbook to surf, check mail, and not have to worry about upgrading the OS every 6-monthsdritzominous wrote:Oh, and here's a list of packages that failed to update:

Good question. Problem is two-fold for me:cwwgateway wrote:For some reason, I forget why, a lot of the wifi drivers were removed from kernel 3.2, which is the one in update pack 4.

you always had a standard install or had you "mess" with the sources.list (and recently?) i ask this because you shouldn't be running those kernel v. in UP4 UP4 was frozen in the 20th of march but the kernel v. you have installed migrated to testing on the 23rd (3.2.12-1) and the one i have (and i believe everybody else migrated on the 12th (3.2.9-1)
only this per-se is not a biggy (broadcom should build as well against the 12-1 kernel) but what else did you pull from outside UP4 or better yet what did you not? because this way it looks like a mixed system (and easier to get these kind of weird bugs)
