I have been running Linux of one flavor or another for a couple years now. I would not say I am a expert by any means but I have found Linux to not only get the job done but gets it done faster then Windows. Like anyone here would be surprised by that

I have recently converted to Mint from Ubuntu11.10 (another great package) only to find that Mint is a far superior OS and even runs better and I did not think that was possible.

Be sure also to check out the Community website (ideas, tutorials, and hardware and software reviews), and the Cinnamon Spices website for adding themes, applets and extensions to Cinnamon (and check out the Cinnamon Extras package , which will install a lot of these for your automatically).

You can also chat in real-time with other Linux Mint users. In the Mint Menu, in the Internet section, start the application XChat IRC. You will automatically get connected to #linuxmint-chat for general chat and #linuxmint-help for support with other Linux Mint users
