[solved] evolution notification kills sound in Cinnamon

Hi,

After installing UP4 on LMDE64 and Cinnamon, I am experiencing a weird problem.

Sound (alsa, pulseaudio) works fine, until an email arrives and evolution plays
a notification sound.

Then all sound is dead. No sounds in Evolution or Skype anymore.
Logoff and re-login does not fix it. I have to reboot.

When logging in with Gnome3, the problem does not occur.
Thus, I assume it is something in Cinnamon.

Does anyone else have this? Or a fix?

Fresh install of latest iso release fixed everything.

Could you maybe start Evolution in terminal and post the output when the error occurs.
You could also look at .xsession-errors in your home if there's something up.

Please also start evolution in terminal and provoke the error!

Reinstall the library. Then you could rename or move the file for a try.

Sorry for the quote mistake, fixed it.

Re-installing alsa libs did not fix it.

When starting evolution in a terminal
this error message pops up:

Update: Installing two libcanberra modules got rid of that.

Update: Now movie player killed the sound.
