Ok, it's probably my bad english.
So:
1) I upgraded the system with UP4.
2) I had some minor problems; the upgrade didn't install linux headers, but i did it using the sgfxi script; it also updated the nvidia drivers.
3) everything was running: MATE, gnome-shell and cinnamon
4) I had a problem with "open as root", installed caja-gksu, but when I tried to open as root, the system tried to open with vlc.
5) I solved the problem editing mimeapps.lst, by axl's advice (thanks again!). That solved the problem on MATE (cinnamon, as far as I know, does not have that option);
6) Then, when I tried to login with cinnamon, I received that message: it's a screen with a computer icon and the message about teh unexpected error that cannot be recovered. That screen appears when I try to log with cinnamon or gnome-shell.
7) MATE load and run OK, but cinnamon and gnome-shell don't. I don't like gnome-shell, but I like cinnamon, and wished to use it.
8 ) I already reinstalled cinannmon, but the "unexpected error" persists: still don't let me log with cinnamon.
That's it!
