A Question about updating to newer versions of Mint

So, this is a very neeewb question BUT When Mint 13 comes out will I simply update or do I need to reinstall. I currently run Linux Mint 12 with the Cinnamon Desktop. So is it just automatic update via udate manager or re-install over 12.
